~ We welcome this morning, as our special music talent, Galina Humphrey. Galina graduated (piano) from the Cheboksary State University, Russia, and joined the faculty. Twenty years later she came to Canada. She was assistant organist at St. Luke’s and was organist at Grace Lutheran for six years.

~ Adult Sunday School happens at 10:00 a.m. The topic for this class is the book of Esther. Everyone is welcome.

~ Elk Lake Baptist Church wishes to hire a part time youth leader (10 hours per month) for a group of early teens and nearly teens that are eager to be part of a youth group experience. ~ The CBWC Gathering 2010 and BC and Yukon Region Assembly 2010 will be held jointly in Vancouver, July 2-5, 2010. If you would like to be a delegate, please speak to Greg Hatton or Les Biggs as soon as possible. See Literature Table for brochures.

~ The next Congregational meeting is Thursday, May 6th, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. Contact our Moderator, Greg Hatton or Les Biggs if you want more information about this meeting. (Note: Greg will be away from April 17th to May 4th)

~ As usual, Solidarity Sunday will be on Mother’s Day, May 9th. The focus this year is on the country of Rwanda. More information will follow later.

~ Evangelism and Transformation in a Secular Society Conference with Brian McLaren and Steve Bell will be on May 28 – 29th, 2010 at Christ Church Cathedral. There will be a Concert with Steve Bell on Saturday evening, May 29th. See the Bulletin Board for more information.

~ The next practice for the Northern Baptist Girls will be on Friday, May 7th at 7:30 pm.

~ Youth for Christ Golf Tournament (fundraiser) will be held Wednesday, June 9th at Glen Meadows Golf Club. See Bulletin Board for more information.

Bulletin for April 11th, 2010

~ We are pleased once again to welcome to our service this morning Kathy Alexander. Kathy started to sing in church as a teenager and eventually became the worship leader and Music Director at Grace Lutheran Church where she often sang with George Roberts. She graduated from UVIC with a BMus. In 1998. Kathy has taught music at a number of schools in Victoria and is currently Choir Director with the Victoria Children’s Choir. When she isn’t doing that, Kathy has three young children under the age of five who keep her very busy!
