~ The current Adult Sunday School study ended today. Sunday School will begin again in the fall.

~ You are invited to a Worship Workshop at Emmanuel Baptist, June 11-13 lead by Ken Dosso. This is a hands-on workshop where worship leaders and team members can learn technically, musically and spiritually from Ken’s coaching of worship teams from various churches. Drummers and bass players are offered a special session Saturday afternoon with Ken and his bass playing son, Mike. All events are open to ‘spectators’. Please see the bulletin board for more information.

~ The next Congregational Prayer time will be Thursday, June 3rd from 7 – 8 pm.

~ The Annual Strawberry Tea, put on by the Baptist Women, is scheduled for Saturday, June 12th. See details on poster. Please put it on your calendar and consider whom you might invite to this event. Tickets are available from Maimu McLeod or any of the ladies of the Baptist Women’s group, including Charlotte Ann Sekul, Barb Smethurst and Velma Ryder, to name but a few. Tickets are $5.00 for adults; $3.00 for children and $12.00 for a family.

~ The church picnic is scheduled for Sunday, June 13th, following the morning worship service. The picnic will be held on the North Lawn again this year. We will be sharing a picnic-style potluck lunch and coffee, tea juice and ice cream are supplied. After lunch there will be games and fun activities for all ages, so we encourage everyone to make an effort to stay for this event and have a great time of fellowship, even if you can’t play the games! Please bring your own lawn chairs, where possible, as well as dishes, cups and utensils. Thank you.

~ The “Daily Bread” for June, July and August is available on the literature table for those who wish to take one.

May-30th-2010 Bulletin

~ Congratulations to Dale, Samantha and Naomi Armstrong on the birth of Noah Michael. Noah was born at 8:30 pm on Monday, May 10, 2010. Noah weighed in at 9lbs and 15oz.

~ Evangelism and Transformation in a Secular Society Conference with Brian McLaren and Steve Bell will be on May 28th- 29th, 2010, at Christ Church Cathedral. There will be a Concert with Steve Bell on Saturday evening, May 29th. See the Bulletin Board for more information.

~ Today is Solidarity Sunday. On this special day, we ask that all Canadian Baptists give a minimum of one or two Toonies to help support Rwanda. One small sacrifice. One huge impact, when multiplied together. Last year, churches across Canada raised over $40,000 for our brothers and sisters in Indonesia! We hope to exceed that amount this year. Anyone wishing a receipt for their donation should use the envelope provided and put their name or envelope number on the outside.

Used Stamps for the Leprosy Mission, and Bar Codes for Island Farms Products can be dropped off at boxes located on the table near the coat rack. On the same table you can drop off used Cell Phones. Mustard Seed food donations are collected in the same area, near the coat rack.
