~ The Coffee Hour after the service needs help again! Are there some kind souls out there who will take a turn doing some baking, even if you can’t spend the time in the church kitchen? That might help someone serve in the kitchen who doesn’t have the time or the skills to bake? If you’ve never taken a turn, someone will be pleased to help you learn the ropes, so to speak. Please speak to Joan Christensen or Adriana Hatton if you can do anything over the next few weeks. This is the last Sunday we have signed up. Thanks!

~ Carey Theological College will be offering courses in Kelowna on an ongoing basis starting this fall. Carey Theological College and Taylor College in Edmonton are working together on this endeavour.

~ SERVE provides an opportunity for youth from across all Canadian Baptist churches to join together to serve a community in Western Canada. This short mission trip gives youth a chance to meet each other, form friendships and make a difference. This year, our youth will go to Flin Flon, a community of 6,000 in Northern Manitoba to paint, clean parks, do environmental projects and generally do whatever needs to be done. SERVE helps teens realize they can make a difference right here in Canada. It makes a statement that our own communities matter. This outstanding ministry has an extensive history with our teens, churches and outreach to the places they have visited. Much good work has been done. Over the last five years, 45 out of our 170 churches and over 650 teens and their leaders have been involved with the SERVE/BWA summer project. Great community has been experienced and grown amongst them.

~ About collecting Stamps for the Leprosy Mission: The Leprosy Mission will continue to receive regular stick-on stamps of any kind. They are able to sell these stamps as a way of raising funds for the Leprosy Mission. These stamps may be deposited in the collection box by the coat rack. Envelopes with printed postage are NO LONGER being accepted as the Leprosy Mission does not receive any funds for them.

~ Ladies, if you have any containers or other items in the kitchen, please take them home to avoid clutter. Also, if anyone bought the cookie jar the Sunday after the Strawberry Tea (it was blue and white in colour and had the words “BISCOTTI” on it), could you please talk to Adriana after church for a moment? I’ll be in the kitchen on coffee duty. Thank you.
