Announcements for May 23rd, 2010

~ Congratulations to Dale, Samantha and Naomi Armstrong on the birth of Noah Michael. Noah was born at 8:30 pm on Monday, May 10, 2010. Noah weighed in at 9lbs and 15oz.

~ Adult Sunday School happens at 10:00 a.m. Everyone is welcome.

~ You are invited to a Worship Workshop at Emmanuel Baptist, June 11-13 lead by Ken Dosso. This is a hands-on workshop where worship leaders and team members can learn technically, musically and spiritually from Ken’s coaching of worship teams from various churches. Drummers and bass players are offered a special session Saturday afternoon with Ken and his bass playing son, Mike. All events are open to ‘spectators’. ~ Elk Lake Baptist Church wishes to hire a part time youth leader (10 hours per month) for a group of early teens and nearly teens that are eager to be part of a youth group experience. ~ Do you have some 3-ply yarn that you will likely never use? You are invited to donate it for a good purpose – to create quilts/blankets for women who are in distress. Please speak to Yvonne Mayhew if you have some yarn you could donate.

~ The next Congregational Prayer time will be Thursday, June 3rd from 7 – 8 pm.

~ The Annual Strawberry Tea, put on by the Baptist Women, is scheduled for Saturday, June 12th. See details on poster. Please put it on your calendar and consider whom you might invite to this event.

~ The church picnic is scheduled for Sunday, June 13th, following the morning worship service. More details will follow.

~ This week our building is being used from 9 – 4 pm on Tuesday and Thursday by a VIHA Adult Day Program.

~ The “Daily Bread” for June, July and August is available on the literature table for those who wish to take one.
