~ A New Feature: Each Sunday, we will be providing a special worship bulletin for children ages 3 – 6 and one for children ages 7 – 11.  Please see an usher if your children didn’t receive this bulletin.  (Thanks to Alison Ellis for arranging this).

~ Spring Fling Spaghetti Dinner! There has been a change in the date of the Spaghetti Dinner – it will be next SATURDAY.the 20^th of March at 6:00 p.m. instead of Friday, the 19^th.  The Baptist Women are putting on a wonderful dinner of spaghetti, salad and garlic bread, along with a heavenly daffodil cake for dessert.  And  that’s just the food – there will be entertainment, music, humour, and also a few door prizes. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 12 and under. This is a fundraiser for the Baptist Women, so do come out and support us and invite your family and friends out for a great evening!

~ The Easter Drama will be on Palm Sunday (March 28^th) during the morning service.  There will be a soup and sandwich lunch after the drama (with thanks to the Social Committee).

~ There will be an Easter Choir practice on Friday evening, March 12^th, at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary.

~ The Sylvan Acres Ministry Board of Directors is seeking to fill the position of Executive Director for Sylvan Acres Ministry. See the bulletin board for more info.

~ Ten Thousand Villages (Broadmead) is a not-for-profit retail outlet for third world artisans (sponsored by MCC.)  Ten Thousand Villages is hosting an Oriental Rug Event featuring heirloom quality, hand-knotted Fair Trade rugs from Pakistan. See bulletin board for more info.

~ The next Finance Committee meeting is now scheduled for Thursday, March 25, 2010.

~ This summer the C.E. Committee is planning to offer another edition of “Adventure Camp”. Talk to Samantha Johnston for more information. The Camp will be held July 13 – 17th from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Helpers are still needed.

~ The Baptist Women will be holding their ANNUAL STRAWBERRY TEA on Saturday, June 27th, 2009, from 1:30 – 4:00 p.m. This year the ladies will have a silent auction, home baking, attic treasures, along with a children’s table and entertainment. Adult tickets are $5.00, family – $12.00 and children 7 and under – $3.00.

~ David and Cathie Phillips and CBM will lead an unforgettable tour of Turkey next October 18th to October 30th. See the Bulletin Board for more information if you think you might be able to join the Phillips on this amazing tour!

~ At an extraordinary Business Meeting on June 13, 2009, the Vancouver Island Association of CBWC Churches was officially dissolved. The Sylvan Acres Camp property has been transferred to the CBWC and the Camp Board will now report to CBWC. It is hoped that the new arrangement will strengthen the work of Sylvan Acres Camp and the work of the churches together.
