~ We welcome this morning, as our special music talent, Galina Humphrey. Galina graduated (piano) from the Cheboksary State University, Russia, and joined the faculty. Twenty years later she came to Canada. She was assistant organist at St. Luke’s and was organist at Grace Lutheran for six years.

~ As usual, Solidarity Sunday will be on Mother’s Day, May 9th. The focus this year is on the country of Rwanda. More information will follow later.
~ Evangelism and Transformation in a Secular Society Conference with Brian McLaren and Steve Bell will be on May 28 – 29th, 2010 at Christ Church Cathedral. There will be a Concert with Steve Bell on Saturday evening, May 29th. See the Bulletin Board for more information.

~ We are pleased once again to welcome to our service this morning Kathy Alexander. Kathy started to sing in church as a teenager and eventually became the worship leader and Music Director at Grace Lutheran Church where she often sang with George Roberts. She graduated from UVIC with a BMus. In 1998. Kathy has taught music at a number of schools in Victoria and is currently Choir Director with the Victoria Children’s Choir. When she isn’t doing that, Kathy has three young children under the age of five who keep her very busy!

~ The Lunch Bunch, which normally meets on the first Thursday of the month, has been postponed until Thursday, April 8th, at 12:00 noon because of Easter being next weekend.

~ Spring Fling Spaghetti Dinner! There has been a change in the date of the Spaghetti Dinner – it will be next SATURDAY.the 20th of March at 6:00 p.m. instead of Friday, the 19th. The Baptist Women are putting on a wonderful dinner of spaghetti, salad and garlic bread, along with a heavenly daffodil cake for dessert. And that’s just the food – there will be entertainment, music, humour, and also a few door prizes. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 12 and under. This is a fundraiser for the Baptist Women, so do come out and support us and invite your family and friends out for a great evening!

~ CBM/Sharing Way have established a Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund. You may contribute to this fund through an ELB giving envelope. (Write: Haiti Earthquake Relief). Cheques may be made out to ELB from which you will receive an income tax receipt. All such designated funds will be sent to CBM/Sharing Way for helping the situation in Haiti.

~ The Nursery is seeking people who would, once a month (or less if more people are available) look after young children for the first part of the service. (This will enable parents not to miss most of the worship services.) Thanks to Charlotte Ann who is doing this on the first Sunday of the month. Please speak to Alison Ellis if you can help out.
