~ Today we say farewell to Ryan, Samantha, Isabelle and Alexandra Johnston who are moving to Langley. There will be a time of farewell following this service in the Fellowship room. We are happy for the opportunities that Ryan and Sam will have in Langley, but very sorry we won’t be sharing the journey together as we have in the past few years.

~ Next Sunday will mark the end of the Christmas season. We will be celebrating this occasion by filling the service with classic Christmas Hymns. In addition, Dale Armstrong will be sharing part of his testimony as to how God is working in his life. Please join us for this celebration of Jesus’ birth.

~ The Baptist Women Christmas Jam, Jelly and Pie Sale was a great success again this year. By extending the sale for another week we have brought our total amount raised to $566.75! The Baptist Women thank each and every one who helped with the sale and who generously purchased items from us to give us this grand total. The money will be put to good use, of this you can be sure! Many thanks!

~ The custodial position has been filled by Rick and Lynn Rancourt, effective immediately! We thank Donna Armstrong for her faithful, good work every week and wish her well in her new endeavours. We welcome the Rancourts to this new position!

~ Thank you to all who brought non perishable food items for the Mustard Seed! This is a reminder that donations can be made to the Mustard Seed on any Sunday. A bin is located beneath the coat rack in the hall leading to the church office.

~ The Baptist Women Christmas Jam, Jelly and Pie Sale was a great success last week with well over $400.00 being raised. Today there will be more items for sale and we will have the grand total available next week. Thank you all for your generosity in helping our worthy causes.

~ During our Advent Service we raised $560 for the Mustard Seed! Thank you all for remembering the impoverished during this season. (“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this – to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world” – James 1:27)

~ Attention parents of small children! Just a little item here, but we have started to supply small pieces of paper for your children to write on and play with while they are in the sanctuary. The offering envelopes in the pews cost approximately 30 cents each and some weeks more than a dozen of these are mutilated or scribbled on and then discarded. Would you please direct your children, whenever possible, to use the other papers which we have placed near the ends of the pews? Thank you for your cooperation!

~ The position of custodian is open once again and is effective immediately! The position is 3 hours per week, plus 1 – 2 hours per month for the hall in the lower building. This is an hourly paid position. Please submit a written application to the Chair of the Building and Grounds Committee, George Cooper.

We pray that the Lord uses Daniel’s message to help prepare our hearts throughout this Advent season to receive God’s greatest gift ever given to mankind – His son Jesus. For more information on the schedule of guest speakers, please talk to Ryan.

~ Our Christmas Drama will be on Sunday morning, December 13th, during the regular service time. There will be a light lunch served right after the service and we ask that you bring a non-perishable food offering for the Mustard Seed at this time.

~ Today is the first Sunday of Advent. Tonight will be an evening of music, fellowship, dessert and celebration! Please invite family, friends and neighbours to come out and join us at 6:30 p.m. Please remember to bring a favourite dessert to share, if you were asked to bring one.
